Storm Creek Celebrates Women’s History Month with Owner & CEO Teresa Fudenberg

Women-owned businesses are driving our country’s economic engine! They represent 42% of all businesses, employ 9.4 million workers, and generate $1.9 trillion in revenue.

Women’s History Month is a great time to commemorate our women-owned business!

Owner and CEO Teresa Fudenberg, a true brand visionary, became the majority owner of Storm Creek in 2014. Since that time, her main priority has been to transform the company’s position in the marketplace and harness the power of apparel to impact the greater good.

“Storm Creek had a great foundation - exceptionally high-quality apparel, every bit as good as better-known brands, but at a much more approachable price,” comments Fudenberg. “But there was a huge opportunity to let the world know, and to carve out a special niche.”

And so the transformation began: the business model, the brand development, the team creation, and multi-channel expansion. “Women naturally have different skills, perspectives, and experiences, which is a huge opportunity to solve problems in new and innovative ways,” Fudenberg continues. “My mission since day one has been to truly take this brand to the next level, and not in an ordinary way!”

That sentiment was ultimately put into words recently in Storm Creek’s “Seekers of Better” manifesto. “Every day we truly are on a quest for the better, and I personally hope that inspires everyone around us - our team, our customers, our partners - everyone!”

Speaking of inspiration, how about this stat: the number of women-owned firms has been growing at more than double the rate of all businesses. Wow, something to celebrate, indeed!

Teresa’s passion for fostering partnerships for the betterment of the community is a key part of Storm Creek’s business model. Over the years, Fudenberg has formed long-lasting partnerships with organizations such as Special Olympics, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Save The Boundary Waters, and the American Cancer Society, each one having a different twist on how to Wear for Better℠. All told, Storm Creek’s various giving platforms add up to the company giving back more than 5% of its profits to charity - earning a recurring spot on the list of Minnesota Keystone Companies. Despite all the success, this is only the beginning for Storm Creek. This year, the company plans to transition every product in its line to being eco-made, amplifying the company’s commitment to a World-First Ethos, and increasing its contribution to 1% for the Planet.

Storm Creek has begun the process of applying for the WBENC-Certified Women’s Business Enterprise program. WBENC provides the most widely recognized certification of women-owned businesses in the U.S. Expect an update from us on that soon!

Thank you Teresa for all of the hard work you do to constantly seek better for your communities, planet, business, and employees! - The Storm Creek Team
